2.0 — clear vocabulary, a Go menu, and a free tier with a real boundary

A major release, with five behaviour changes. The last one deserves reading before you update.

The free tier now has a real boundary. With no account, or on the free tier, you keep imports, the Photos grid, one project, your library, your account, and restoring your archives. The other areas — catalogue raisonné, agents, exhibitions, publications, review, tags, collections, people, archiving, integrity checks, activity history, insights, workflow, certificates, reports, logs — require a signed-in session on a paid plan, and no longer appear in navigation without one.
Before this version, everything that did not need the network was open without a licence. An existing installation used without a licence will therefore lose access to those areas after updating. Two things do not change, and they matter: no file is held hostage — everything already imported stays readable, exportable and restorable, including from an archive — and a paid licence restores everything, immediately.
The one-project cap now also applies to imports, which previously created one project per folder with no limit.

“Library” names the container, “Photos” names the grid. One word meant two things: the .obf document and its folder on one hand, the grid of photos on the other. “Workspace” and “photo library” are gone. The .obf format is unchanged: this is an interface rename, with no migration and nothing for you to do.
A Go menu replaces the icon rail and three sidebar rows. The sidebar no longer carries Agents, Review or People, and its ten-icon footer rail is gone. Every destination lives in the new Go menu, with ⌘1 to ⌘9 on the nine most travelled, and in the ⌘K palette. Settings stays available with ⌘, and from the application menu.
Renaming a project no longer moves its folder. Renaming changed the recorded path, which made photos unresolvable and permanently broke folder watching from the first rename onward. A folder may now carry a different name from its project, and the project’s record shows the real folder. Libraries already out of step are detected and a repair is offered, without moving a single file.
A licence used offline for too long must be revalidated. Past the window the server grants, paid features close until the next connection, instead of staying open indefinitely. Revalidation is automatic when the network returns, and a “Check now” button triggers it on demand. Nothing needs re-buying, and free capabilities are never touched.

A Lightroom catalogue becomes an update source. A project imported from a .lrcat can be compared against its catalogue to find additions, renames and disappearances — which previously only worked for folders.
